In the heart of Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique’s Campsite, is a little piece of heaven, a slither of gold, formerly known as The Whaler. operating now as Underwater Explorers.
The beauty, view, accessibility and warm family environment, stays the same, catering for divers and friends, alike. With a dive centre, accommodation, and easy access to the beach, Underwater Explorers is the place to be in Southern Mozambique.
From dolphins to whales and whale sharks, bass to hammerheads and zambezi sharks, Mozambique offers spectacular diving with many species and vast variety of sea life. Join us for an underwater adventure, from shallow reefs for Open water, to deeper shark dives for the more advanced diver… a little something for everyone. The water temperature ranges from 21 ºC, with recorded visibility of 25+ meters in winter, May to August. In summer, 29ºC with 15 to 20 meters visibility which illustrates excellent diving all year round. All divers must present proof of certification prior to first dive and fill out a standard diving indemnity form. With Oxygen and DAN Kit onboard the rubber duck, The Whaler can accommodate 13 divers.
